Faded. Like the nail polish on your fingers and the paint on the ceiling. Everything fades now and then; friendships, love and faith. Faded. Like words on a page after water hits it or when make up begins to run. Faded is the one who picks up a Bible but never reads it.
Faded. Like old Polaroid photos in a burning fireplace. People can fade away in the wind of life, stress and other things. Faded. Like rain drops on a window when the sun begins to shine. Faded is the one who wants to pray, but never even starts.
Faded. Like marker on a coloring book page when smeared with a hand. You can fade away, if you don’t have Him to guide you. Faded. Like coffee stains on a bright white tee shirt after a few washes. Faded is the one who looks to God for help but can’t ask for it.
Faded. Like the scabs on your knees after healing. A heart can fade away from love when its hurt too many times. Faded. Like pen on a hand when scrubbed with soap and water. Faded is the one who wants to be loved but cannot trust anyone with anything.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You are not faded, you are not alone. This place you call home is just a temporary one, and with that, we should be examples in this faded world we live in. Do not think that every little thing in your world is faded into the black, because it hasn’t… Remember that; God can make that faded smile and faded life a masterpiece again.You cannot feel like a preciousness Van Gogh if you feel like a faded Picasso.
