It’s okay to have Jesus and a Therapist too.

Living in fear is not that easy; you’ll never know what will happen next and your body is in constant fight or flight mode. You slowly begin to question everything that happens in your life and whether or not you are normal anymore. Life feels as if it’s constantly miserable and nothing is going to get better. Dark clouds always surround you and joy never feels like coming through them. The urge to scream for help or disappear never seems to escape your thoughts; while others just see a smiley facade. Not everyone understands nor cares about what you are going through; because you don’t share what is happening.

It’s okay to ask for extra help besides seeking Jesus. Normal people in your life can’t help; sometimes you need professional help. Don’t hesitate to go to someone that can help you heal from the worries of this world. Just because it’s scary that you feel like you’re getting worse or the anxiety that plagues you is making you feel miserable; that shouldn’t keep you from healing. Life is rough for believers and sometimes other believers make more rough on us when we don’t even know it. Finding a groove where we can seek after truth and safety is something we a believers who suffer from mental health truly need. Therapy is truly difficult because you’re opening up your heart and mind to someone you barely know, but it’s helpful in the end when you see improvements in your life because of it.

Crying out to other people in a public form isn’t truly going to help you heal, nor is suffering in silence. If you need help becoming somewhat normal or returning to your old self, then you can have Jesus and a therapist too. It’s not a bad thing, and shouldn’t make you feel bad because you are also relaying on someone that isn’t just Christ for your problems. You aren’t a bad Christian because you are suffering, you just need more work on yourself. You aren’t broken, just made differently. Life shoots bullets at us from all sides, and sometimes the wounds cut deeper than they should or heal incorrectly. But don’t worry and don’t fear; Jesus and a therapist can help you too.

I am writing this for two people; one for myself and another for a friend of mine. You aren’t alone in the things you battle. Not everyone will understand or care; they will brush it off instead. Having a therapist and Jesus is okay. It’s not a bad thing… Trust me when I say this… It’s worth it in the end results.
